Training Your Administration to Steer the Ship for You

"And God has appointed in the church, first apostles, second prophets, third teachers, then miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, administrations." 1 Cor. 12:28

Let there be no mistake about it, the gift of Administration is listed among God's other gifts of authority and power! Literally, administration speaks of a helmsman, one who skillfully steers a ship to arrive at the destination set by the captain. As your ministry grows, gifted administrators are essential to your ministry. Here are some questions that must be asked if your administration is to be equipped to "Steer the Ship" for you:

  1. How well-trained is my support staff... Well enough to deal with crises and administrate our God-given destiny?
  2. What is my view of structure... A chain that restrains my freedom or God's plan for properly and orderly doing His work?
  3. Delegation of Authority... Who do I trust and when should I add paid staff members?
  4. If I could change one thing about my Administration Department, what would it be?

As God adds to your numbers, it becomes painfully evident that you can't do everything by yourself... you need skilled administration. If you engage our services, we can teach your staff to help you chart a course to where you are going; arrive safely and on time; and handle all the details for you. These are some of the ways we can help:

Staff Identity... Finding passions, releasing gifts and knowing the difference between the two! Vision Clarification... Does your staff really know where you are leading them? Church Administration 101... How to avoid the twin errors of too much too soon and too little too late! Budgeting... A hindrance to your vision or a provision for priority spending? Sailing into the Wind... A skilled staff can do what seems impossible! Staff Accountability... Having a vision within the Vision. Your Approachability... What do staff members do when they disagree with you as the Senior Pastor? Legal Matters, Incorporation, Bylaws, 501(c)(3), Insurance, etc, etc, etc... Are they boring details or the stuff that keeps you afloat?
